I cannot decolonize my body: CLAY, 2023–ongoing
Performance / installation
CLAY is a site-responsive performance examining the extraction of land and minerals required to power AI. A 45-minute audio composition interweaves Roxanne’s poetry with research on lithium extraction across Indigenous territories in the Americas.
Working with clay, red pigment, fabric, and soil beneath a projected luminous cloud, the performance makes the material conditions of “the cloud” physically present. What is imagined as weightless digital infrastructure is returned to land, labor, and the body.
SELECTED PRESENTATIONS
2023 — From Clay Tablets to AI, Atelier Gardens, Berlin, Germany
2023 — EHCN, University des Andes, Bogota, Colombia
